What is Luvox?

Luvox, with its active ingredient Fluvoxamine Maleate, is an SSRI (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) antidepressant. Primarily used for the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), it also effectively manages social anxiety disorders by increasing serotonin levels in the brain to improve mood and emotional stability.

Efecte secundare

Common side effects include nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth, loss of appetite, dizziness, sweating, and diarrhea. Some may experience more severe side effects like unusual changes in behavior, hallucinations, irregular heartbeat, seizures, and difficulty breathing.

Avertismente

Luvox should not be used in conjunction with MAO inhibitors or within 14 days of stopping them. It requires caution in patients with a history of seizures, mania, suicidal thoughts, and those with liver or kidney disease.
